This is an exciting opportunity to coordinate the Amber Valley Walk Derbyshire and Walking for Health Scheme. The successful candidate will further develop the extensive walking for health programme by establishing targeted walks, expanding the volunteer network and maintaining existing walks, in addition to developing wider walking activities across the Borough as part of Walk Derbyshire.

About Walk Derbyshire Officer
The successful candidate should have excellent relationship development skills and project and partnership development experience. The Walk Derbyshire Officer will engage with and support our Walking for Health programme which currently consists of around 13 weekly Health Walks and a number of Walking Sports opportunities.
They will also work in partnership with existing projects, Leisure Centres and health professionals to create clearer pathways for people to access opportunities.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is friendly and approachable, with a great understanding and knowledge of developing walks and physical activity in the community, be commercially minded and looking at innovative ways to grow the programme.
This position is based in the Wellbeing section at the Town Hall in Ripley.
